The Wild Robots have made it to PES! They have over 150 robots that students and their families made as part of the One School One Book initiative. 🤖🌳📚
Today is the start of the Scholastic Book Fair! Each classroom will have a designated date and time with the end of the week for returning visitors and make up times. Don't forget Thursday March 27 is family night from 5-7pm! Cash, card and eWallets accepted! We can't wait to see you there.
PES had color wars today! It was a great day full of fun!
This year's Annual Project Graduation "Hoopfest" is April 11th-13th. There will be brackets available for 3rd grade students and up, as well as adult teams. The price to compete is $200 per team, and we guarantee at least 3 games. Payment is required by April 1st to hold your spot. To register email: jmhsprojectgrad@yahoo.com
NOTICE OF VACANCY ON BOARD OF EDUCATION
The Monroe County Board of Education is currently seeking a permanent resident of Monroe County residing in the Western District to fill the recently vacated seat of Sabrina Stutts to be held until June 30, 2026.
Letters of interest must be received on or before 3:00 pm on March 28, 2025. Those letters shall be sent by mail to Board President Candace Sabol, Monroe County Schools, PO Box 330, Union, WV 24983 or by email candace.sabol@k12.wv.us
Eligibility requirements for county board members can be found in WV Code 18-5-1a.
The Monroe County Board of Education will have a Special Meeting Wednesday, March 20, 2025 at 5:00 p.m.
Agenda items will include Action/Discussion related to the appointment and/or the process of filling the unexpired term of the vacant Board member seat in accordance with WV Code 18-5-2.

PES has had an amazing week celebrating Read Across America!
We were notified by Department of Highways that Cooks Run Road is currently closed. Parents can meet bus 221 at James Monroe at 3:30pm or meet at the old Greenville School at 4:00pm.
Please remember that Friday, February 28th is a Professional Learning Day and there will be no school for students.
Mrs. Altice’s class at PES learned a new multiplication strategy today during math. Her students were rocking their multiplication while doing vertical learning!
